Key Accountabilities

Consultancy and facilitation for adoption and migration to strategic tooling.

Build the bank; Analysis, planning, design, test and deployment of change to in scope tools and tool services including of proof of concept, feature and hardware improvements and product version upgrades. Plan and manage upgrade projects through collaboration with dispersed and complex teams in various locations

Run the bank; Day to day technical expert, acting as an advisor contributing to technical developments and as a facilitator of complex incident
resolution. L2 Support of production services. Full incident, problem and change management roles for all in scope tools and tool services.

Engagement with tool users, business unit tool champions, vendors and internal technical teams to scope, plan, develop, test and deploy service enhancements.

Prepare and present business case proposals for new and additional acquisitions to the DevTools Investment Review Board.
Create and drive awareness of tools in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders through public awareness channels and various individual enablement programs

Creation and maintenance of DevTools Knowledge Base and DevTools Administration pages for all in scope tools and tool services.

Delivery of product enhancement demonstrations and user training sessions.

Capacity planning of software licenses and application hardware.

Reporting of tool and tool service usage MI.

Compliance with all relevant technology standards, policies and procedures.

Engage with and contribute to Agile and DevOps related CoEs and initiatives to promote use of DevTools services to drive increased fluency levels across technology

Person Specification

Strong product knowledge for Agile Planning and Collaboration tools (including, but not limited to products such as Agile Central (Rally), Confluence and Jira). This should include knowledge of how the tools are deployed, administered, and upgraded, including underlying middleware and infrastructure components.

Experience Developing against common APIs (HTTP, REST, SOAP, LDAP, ODBC, COM etc)

Highly fluency in agile and lean based working practices and team environments.

Proficiency in technical authorship and technical training.

Practical experience of object oriented scripting/development: Python, test-driven development, Windows batch programming and shell scripting.
Experience in administration and monitoring of Windows/Linux/DB systems, implementation of Nagios checks, use of Unix monitoring tools (sar, iostat, vmstat).

A working knowledge of the banks policies and processes in relation to change governance, risk & control, and other relevant technology standards (as defined at http://TechStandards)

Strong domain knowledge of software developer roles and responsibilities at Barclays across all business units.
