Job Duties and Responsibilities:
At Dish the Testing and Quality Assurance (TQA) team’s mission is to ensure that the software we deliver meets the business needs and allows for a positive customer experience. As a member of the TQA Team, the Automation Senior Software Test Engineer is responsible for leading and contributing as part of a team of onshore and offshore testers in a fast paced IT environment for multiple applications. They will ensure that all software meets the business requirements by designing and executing test scenarios that exercise all required test conditions.
Primary responsibilites fall into the follwoing categories:
•Responsible for writing and maintaining automation test scripts and test suites.
•Responsible for building test automation framework. Design and develop a reliable, scalable, and maintainable automation framework using open source tools.
•Maintain automation test documents and reports.
•Train and support team in executing the automation suites.
•Maintain automation test documents and reports. Review and enhance developer generated unit tests.
•Work with agile tools to integrate test results or automated tests running from a continuous integration environment
Skills - Experience and Requirements:
A successful Senior Software Test Engineer will have the following:
•Strong analytical (ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions), organizational and communication skills.
•Comfortable in a fast paced environment Experience in working in Agile/Scrum environments.
•4 – 6 years of experience with Open source test automation platforms (Selenium) or HP Automation tools.
•Knowledge of SOA methodology and Web service testing using any automated testing tool.
•Strong understanding in programming concepts.
•Works to introduce automation where needed and can promote incorporation automated test into continuous integration work flows.
•Experience with build automation platforms such as Jenkins is a plus.
•Experience with scripting languages and programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby.
•Ability to lead, mentor and train TQA staff members.
•Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; or five years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
