Responsible for the gasoline base calibration.
Implement department strategy in-line with company and department requirements.
Calibration domain responsible for base calibration including: Parameters optimisation, sensors and actuators, air charge determination, fuel path, ignition and torque structure, with respect to latest McLaren standards.
Support the other department areas under Powertrain controls: Driveability, Emissions and OBD.
Attend over-seas test trips to support and sign-off the base engine function capabilities.
Achieving team financial targets.
Responsible for the professional development of team members.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Physics, Engineering, or an equivalent education.
Extensive industry experience related to internal combustion engine or powertrain development.
Expert level comprehension of control strategies for gasoline combustion engine and/or hybrids systems.
Extensive knowledge and competences in terms of calibration activities and processes as well as engine and powertrain testbeds.
Experience in leading engineering team would be advantageous.
Strong interpersonal and team-working skills, ability to manage team members and cost, as well as a high affinity for tracking supplier and delivering first-quality products to the customer.
Strong communication skills with high fluency in English both written and verbal.
Willingness to succeed and balance multiple priorities.
Excellent inter-personal skills and evidence of positive supplier relationships.
Comfortable with Matlab, Simulink and post processing tools.
Comfortable presenting achievements and perspectives to teams and/or directors.
Flexible attitude towards working time and schedule.
Must have a keen interest in developing and improving processes throughout each element of the role, including the suppliers’ involvement.
