We are currently seeking a Middleware Analyst (SOA) to join our Toronto office.
The successful candidate for Middleware Analyst (SOA) will is a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who will work with the Integration Architects, the Enterprise Architect, the Application Team Leaders and Technology Infrastructure team to ensure the quality of Freedom Mobile’s SOA environment and evolve Freedom’s continuous integration environment and deployment capabilities.
This candidate will design, build and execute tests to ensure the validity, reliability and performance of SOA services. The candidate will work with the project team to develop and refine test cases according to project requirements. The candidate will then apply best practices for test driven development and continuous integration to build and execute these tests against service. The candidate will be responsible for designing and building mock services to provide predictable results for back end systems not yet built or ready for testing. The candidate will also build test clients that will exercise the services according to agreed test scenarios and test cases.
The candidate will be involved in building and modifying deployment scripts and working with production and environment support teams to triage issues related to the SOA environment.
Freedom’s SOA environment uses SVN, Jenkins and Nexus for continuous integration. SOAP UI is used for functional testing of services. The candidate will be familiar with this as well as with Java and the Eclipse IDE. All environments are on Linux or AIX.
This role will suit a creative problem solver, looking to work with a talented team in a fast-paced, agile environment. The Middleware Analyst (SOA) will participate in efforts to create new standards and best practices and drive adoption of a SOA-based approach to integration.
This position requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with business stakeholders, developing documentation, taking direction from the Enterprise Architect and Integration Architects and driving best practices in the area of quality, testing and continuous integration.
The Middleware Analyst (SOA) may work on multiple projects at once and should be comfortable juggling and prioritizing a variety of tasks for each project. These include:
Create test cases, mock services and test clients to ensure the SOA solution meets the business and non-functional requirements.
Contribute to discovery discussions; identify key business and technology drivers that impact integration strategies and application architectures.
