Assess and evaluate current networking infrastructure; design, document, test and implement network services and devices.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) at a high level.
Support proactive capacity planning modeling to support business decisions.
Detect, identify and perform problem isolation and resolution throughout the network architecture.
Conduct research, evaluate and recommends cost effective networked solutions, and new technologies to support the technology strategies of the core business.
Develop and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages. Provide knowledgeable consulting, technical guidance and leadership to technical review boards; configuration control boards; developers, engineers and senior managers.
Provide storage area network (SAN) engineering and administration.
Oversee the configuration, monitoring, and optimization of network devices such as routers and switches.
Support network upgrade projects or initiatives, through the lifecycle, including design, test and deployment.
The Sr. Network Architect shall have twenty (20) years of experience that can be a combination of program or project management and education. A master’s degree is equivalent to 6 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree is equivalent to 4 years of experience and an associate’s degree is equivalent to 2 years of experience. The degree must be in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university

Hands on experience with Cisco ASR, 7600/6500 routers
10+ years of hands on experience creating network functional and technical design documentation

5+ years of experience designing and planning large scale network migrations
IP Networking (IPv4 and IPv6, ICMP, ARP)
Network Management and Automation (SNMP, CLI)
Routing Protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS/ECMP) and Switching Protocols (STP/VLAN/VPN/MPLS)
Network QoS and Security (ACL, Firewalls, QoS).
Experience with either design and implementation, or operation of, large-scale enterprise deployments of network security infrastructures using a continuous improvement methodology while enforcing compliance standards.
A diverse background in perimeter security solutions
Ability to lead, innovate, and support compliance and security guidance in firewall, IDS/IPS, web proxy, load balancers, and web application firewalls.
Designed and implemented enterprise network firewall architectures in commercial or federal domains, with a demonstrated understanding of firewall topology and zone based methodology.
Experience designing and troubleshooting VPNs
Provisioning and maintenance of systems across multiple locations and platforms
Hands on experience with Cisco Data Center Switches Nexus 5K, 7K and 9K
