Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical or commercial issues associated with specific projects to external customers. Interface with other functional area specialists
Maintains and updates Account Plans, Opportunities (in SFDC) and other activities. Regular communication of important market information via call reports and weekly reports to the Regional Sales Director
Identifies competitive activity where Corning is at risk in performance, cost, quality or market access. Leverages industry knowledge to increase market position and/or solidify customer relations
Works together with the responsible Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative to ensure best in class day-to-day business fulfilment
Participates in internal meetings regarding sales budgets, forecasts, market analysis, contract management and competitive intelligence
Assigned work goals are attained without appreciable supervisory direction. Completed work is reviewed for desired results from a mid- to long-term perspective
Presentations and trainings at the customers’ premises
Display the highest level of professionalism as a representative of CAG and adhere to Corning values
Travel is expected to be ≤50%


Bachelor’s technical degree, engineering. The ideal candidate would have a technical degree (Masters, Dipl.-Ing. or PhD) in physics, optics or glass science
Several years of professional sales force experience, preferably in the Automotive industry
Fluent command of the English and German language and able to compose and communicate, both in written and verbal formats, complex operations and manufacturing issues to the various levels inside and outside of the organization; additional French language skills would be an advantage
Proven interpersonal and communicate skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, external suppliers, and team members with commercial, technical, reliability and operations backgrounds
Proficient in Power Point (writing presentations and presenting) and Excel Strong commitment, flexibility and drive; result orientation with Entrepreneurial / Hunting attitude; must be a ‘self-starter’ and possess strong initiative
Possess strong work ethic and attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
The position holder requires strong interpersonal skills, i.e. the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility, to influence and gain closure, and to work within a team structure
Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision
