The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the technical build, ongoing support and operations of the SAP applications – S4 HANA, BW on HANA, GRC, Portal, TDMS, and Solution Manager.
Basis, BusinessObjects BI & DS, Dell Boomi, and 3rd party add-ons and bolt-ons
Provides SAP Basis support to the implementation of new products, upgrades and migrations and is responsible for the system performance tuning, high availability, backup, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
Partner with other Sabre teams for successful implementations including Change and Release Management, Enterprise Architecture, Risk and Compliance, etc.
Define and apply best practices for these solutions and communicate them to the user and development teams
Maintain expertise in current SAP solution capabilities and understand future technology and practice roadmaps
Attention to detail, multi-tasking and prioritization skills are required
Deploying, administering and managing SAP Basis and application integrations
HANA Enterprise will be a main focus area, full stack including development, UI/UX, XS Extended Engine, LCM, etc. prior experience is required
Collaborate with many teams including networking, database, storage/backup, development and operations to efficiently and effectively deliver operational excellence
Implement the disaster recovery strategy in collaboration with vendor partner and other Sabre teams
Responsible for target system performance goals for SAP systems
Collaborates with other Sabre groups in order to solve technical issues. Establishes and monitors escalation of problems.
Escalation main point of contact for SAP technical issues
Document and manage processes for the proper management of SAP
Manage SAP client copies, system copies, imports / exports, and transports as needed.
Manage project planning and execution for major activities such as software upgrades, software configuration changes and hardware upgrade or replacement.
Set strategy on infrastructure products and new technology related to the SAP systems
Work and collaborate with other technology groups to support the SAP landscape
Work with development teams in support of application performance tuning and troubleshooting
Partner with Change and Release Management to ensure a stable operating environment during any transitions and changes
Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
10 years of experience managing large enterprise SAP environments
Must have 5 years of experience demonstrating leadership and management in an SAP Basis capacity including remote and off-shored teams
Exemplary troubleshooting and ability to drive root cause analysis on incidents and problems
Must have experience on both installing and maintaining SAP systems, including SAP Landscape design, performance tuning, and HANA
Excellent working knowledge of ITIL/ITSM service management practices, specifically incident management, change management and problem management.
