1.Implement and assist in developing and sustaining existing fire safety programs and other safety programs. 2.Review site construction, sprinkler, standpipe, fire alarm and all fire related system plans to ensure that they confirm to the applicable regulations, standards and codes. Evaluate and review sprinkler systems, fire main installations, detection and alarm systems, smoke control systems and other fire protection components. Evaluate briefs submitted by engineers seeking approval for code equivalency.3.Conduct fire safety and building code inspections of new and existing buildings as well as buildings under construction for code compliance. Conduct fire protection permitting process to support site development.4.Provide technical assistance and guidance to architects, engineers, developers, contractors, building owners by providing a technical interpretation of building and fire codes as they apply to a jurisdiction.5.Act as a technical resource for incident commanders by providing information concerning structural stability, hazardous materials and fire protection components.6.Act as representative to fire safety bureaus, assurance company, technical associations, etc. 7.Capable to support site Environmental, Health and Safety organization on other safety programs.
-A Bachelor of Science degree in a related EHS technical field is required -A Master of Science degree in EHS technical field is desired -Knowledge and understanding of EHS principles, analysis methodologies, and relevant standards/guidelines. Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA standard is preferred. -Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and build long-lasting partnerships -Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with customers, peers, and management -Able to thrive in a highly cross-functional team environment -Self-motivated, disciplined, and flexible to adapt to new situations
