Sales Engineering Manager, Apigee

As a Sales Engineering Manager, you have excellent technical, organizational and leadership skills. You will lead a team of Sales Engineers who engage with sales prospects to understand and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Apigee’s API Management platform. You will also directly engage with customers on a regular basis independent of your team to drive opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Be a credible and authentic technology leader, delivering the team's vision and technology to prospects, partners and customers in the region.
Hire, coach and drive a high performance team to deliver against assigned goals while prioritizing an outstanding experience to customers and prospects.
Develop a strong working relationship with the customer’s technical staff and be able to gain their trust and credibility through your deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise.
Manage and lead the customer throughout the evaluation process through to closure. Work closely with Account Executives and Sales leadership to align the technical requirements and the solution design with the customer's business drivers and demonstrate our unique value.
Develop presentations and demos with a clear plan to take a prospect successfully through the evaluation process and turn them into a happy customer. Collaborate with and contribute to internal product and other technical teams actively, taking in the inputs and suggestions from the field.

Minimum qualifications:

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience serving in the capacity of a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer facing role (including working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team).
People management experience, managing an effective team and attracting and growing talent.
Experience building and delivering Proofs of Concept (PoCs) independently and effectively.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's Degree in Computer Science and/or MBA; effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Hands-on familiarity with middleware and cloud technologies like NOSQL datastores, Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and container technologies.
Understanding of solution architecture within web and mobile environments and technical experience of web/internet related technologies, architecture across SAAS, PAAS and IAAS and competitive cloud productivity suites.
Ability to effectively present to both technical and non-technical audiences, engaging C-Level in business and technology transformation and ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT Technology space.
