Job Role Summary:

RESPONSABILITIES OF SENIOR TAX ANALYST:

-Preparation and submission of European VAT returns and payments

-Preparation and submission of European Statistical Declarations

-Reconciliation of VAT accounts

-Investigation and follow

-up of reconciliation items with various departments and affiliates to ensure prompt clearance of outstanding items

-Support Tax Audits including investigation, analysis and providing responses to questions from European affiliates and local Tax Authorities

-Identify and implement process standardization and improvement opportunities -Building effective communications / relationships with affiliate Tax Departments

-In case of Spain and Portugal, South Africa, keep contact with outside tax consultants (discussion, reviews, audits, preparation of documents for the tax administration)


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR ANALYST:

-Guide Analysts in day-to-day execution of work activities

-Ensure that team members' work activities are accomplished to meet applicable due dates

-Actively work with team members within the group to:

Foster teamwork, instil continuous improvement and drive performance excellence
Educate and train team members regarding respective tasks, work processes, and system tools
Help develop team members' working knowledge of the overall business
-Working with other team members to identify potential process improvement opportunities

-As appropriate may have other responsibilities such as safety and ergonomic contact, coordination of incident reporting, controls advisory, record retention, systems power user, etc.

Requirements:

-Higher education (College or University) in Finance, Accountancy or Economics
-Accounting knowledge
-Strong ability to assimilate:

Business procedures and practices related to accounts under responsibility
ExxonMobil accounting guidelines (capital versus expense treatment, foreign exchange, VAT)
ExxonMobil internal control and business ethics standards
-Understanding of related information systems
-Numeracy and P.C. skills, experience with SAP R3 would be of benefit
-Attention to accuracy and detail
-Ability to influence and to work in a team environment
-Communication and Problem Solving skills
-Ability to meet priorities and deadlines
-Sound analytical skills and control minded.
-1 to 4 years of experience
-Strong interest in tax
