What you’ll be doing...
The Sr. Manager, User Experience Strategy & Design, champions a culture of user centered design thinking in all Verizon device experiences. This is a key role with exposure to top-level decision makers, direct impact on product design and direction, strategic POV’s, and relationships with device manufacturing partners. Successful candidates must have significant experience leading and designing mobile, tablet, or web experience initiatives and integrating with related digital and offline touch points (i.e. call centers, IVR, etc.). This candidate must be detailed oriented, energetic, agile and have a passion for constantly improving the experience.
The Sr. Manager, User Experience Strategy & Design serves as an internal expert on device experience best practices, leads initiatives, and partners with product teams, internal departments, and external vendors. Effectively translates business requirements into flow and architectural recommendations for digital projects of all sizes across all channels (mobile, tablet, desktop, and emerging). Partner with stakeholders to iterate and refine options to achieve optimal solutions. Documents detailed journey maps, user-flows, information architecture, interaction maps, prototypes, wireframes and visual designs. Must be highly innovative with a passion for customer journeys, usability, analytics, organization, technology and branding. Leads, coaches and develops a team of 4 UX/UI Designers.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Persuasive communicator - able to explain complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
Good listener - weighs input from multiple perspectives when forming opinions and recommendations.
Collaborative and team oriented work approach.
Expert understanding of user-centered design processes and ability to balance customer needs with business goals in developing solutions in an agile, often ambiguous environment.
Experience facilitating brainstorming and product discovery sessions and getting consensus among a large, diverse group of stakeholders.
Experience guiding, leading and driving user research.
Mastery of UX Design principles and deliverables, including rapid prototyping, site maps, information architecture, user personas, wireframes, flows, etc.
Ability to convert ideas quickly into design artifacts.
Strong design aesthetic, background in design or creative role.
Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills.
Experience managing, training and mentoring others in UX design methodologies and best practices.
Experience designing responsive/adaptive design solutions for web, mobile, and tablet for both iOS and Android platforms.
10+ years of experience within the field of user experience and interaction design/development on mobile platforms – to include design research.
5+ years leading user experience teams including performance management.
Will be able to provide work samples (portfolio) showcasing UX prowess, creativity, and depth of thought, coupled with fluency in best practices for Interaction Design, Visual Design and Front End Development.
BS/BA in design, visual communications, graphic design, human-computer interaction, or interaction design, digital media design, fine arts, or related field.
