PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP HANA team develops a platform that performs parallel in-memory processing of huge data sets to offer extremely fast real-time responses for analytic queries and excels in OLTP. The platform also provides libraries for predictive, planning, text processing, spatial, and business analytics – all on the same architecture.
An essential part of this team is the development support team, which is responsible for supporting our external customer base by analyzing incidents and work closely with developers to ensure high quality of the SAP HANA database platform.

As part of the Quality Assurance you deal with critical situations in which you conduct technical analysis and handle internal and external communication. You provide the solution to our customers!

SAP HANA Development Support
The Development Support team is distributed around the globe to ensure 24/7 customer service. When analyzing customer concerns, you work closely with global development teams and acquire deep technical knowledge of the different HANA platform components. Your daily work requires the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize quickly.
In your daily work you can expect to…
Analyze complex problems from customers or SAP internal stakeholders related to database engine and SAP HANA platform
Align customer requirements in close collaboration with SAP HANA development
Provide reproducible scenarios of customer issues to developers
Analyze performance and scalability of the SAP HANA database
Communicate issues to front office support or customer / LOB‘s
Continuously improve supportability features and documentation
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Very good analytical skills
Good understanding of relational database architecture(s) or in memory solutions (HANA)
Experience with analyzing & debugging complex problems
Good knowledge of SQL
Basic knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages:
Ability to work well in global teams across different time-zones
Very good communication skills
Verbal and written working proficiency in English
Degree in computer science or related technical discipline
Using C++-Debuggers (like GDB) or profiling tools
Distribution strategies for data or tasks
Distributed file systems or cluster solutions
Experience with network & storage systems
Knowledge of SAP Applications (e.g. BW, ERP, S/4 HANA)
Knowledge in Git, Gerrit
Practical experience in database administration, optimization or application optimization for database access.
Work experience around Quality Engineering
