Database Developer

Job Description:

As a Developer, you will work closely with cross IT teams to be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of database, data warehouse and data integration solutions.

Responsibilities include:

Collaborate with business users and IT teams, analyze requirements, apply business rules to data processing and integration
Design, create and maintain efficient databases ensuring data integrity as well as useful, quality-controlled, repeatable, reusable and thoughtful data objects
Design, develop, test, and deploy data integration processes using tools such as Informatica, ODI, Python, PL / SQL, Talend across various database technologies (RDBMS, NOSQL, etc)
Create functional and technical documentation – e.g. data integration architecture flows, source to target mappings, test plans
Work with Product and Software Management to create release plans, prioritize scope and define deliverables
Assist in defining scope and effort estimation for projects

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of IT experience OR Masters Degree
Seeking experience in one of the following: Database, Data Warehouse or Data integration development
Experience with databases with complex data sets in RDBMS. Knowledge on NOSQL and AWS RDS, Redshift are preferred
Seeking experience with one or more data integration tools – Informatica, SSIS, Talend, Ab Initio, DataStage, Python.
Knowledge of AWS technology including Redshift a plus
Knowledge of ETL, including the ability to read and write efficient, robust code, follow or implement best practices and coding standards, design / implement common ETL strategies (CDC, SCD, etc.), and create reusable/maintainable jobs
Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
Strong written / oral communication and presentation/interpersonal skills
Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau, QlikView, MicroStrategy, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting skills, able to gather necessary details in order to determine a proper solution.
Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure a high quality and high performing ecosystem
Highly organized and thorough, with an ability to facilitate communication and scheduling among different levels of staff
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a consistently positive manner, exercising discretion and tact
