What you’ll be doing...
Responsible for the governance and management of the overall Verizon Smart Communities (VSC); specific responsibility for strategic and financial planning (financial budgeting, revenue tracking, capital, opex, and city P&L reporting). Will be instrumental in helping product managers and senior executives put together business cases for new opportunities and strategic leadership reviews. Will promote financial and strategic best practices across various teams within Smart Communities and Venues.
Responsible for standing up and managing two critical financial functions within VSC: pricing our products and business model creation. The Strategy & Financial Planning Manager will be responsible for setting the end to end financial strategy & executing upon that strategy for the VSC Business. Successful scoping and execution of these functions will require stakeholder engagement and buy-in across Product Owners and Verizon internal Business units.
Pricing, Commercialization & Business Models: Pricing, commercialization and business models supporting each one of the solutions groups to develop pre-set models to choose from.
Responsible for managing capital, expense, and revenue tracking functions, including a team to delve into the PR code systems across Verizon to establish product roll-up and financial modeling capabilities that tie together VSC offerings from both existing and new product offerings across both new and existing customer base.
Responsible for developing capital requirements working in partnership with Product Management managing to internal Verizon capital planning cycle.
Responsible for Establishing Verizon’s visibility and credibility within the Smart Communities & Venues marketplace in coordination with the VSC Digital Readiness and Sales Enablement teams. Responsible for outward communication, marketing, and events for VSC.
Responsible for internal & external strategy development & communication, including driving VSC staff agendas, communications agendas, off-sites, and ensure appropriate communications are maintained across departments.
Responsible for defining and selling VSC Vision across Global Products & Services organization through executive ops reviews.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Five or more years of experience in strategy & financial planning.
Experience managing a business ops team.
Even better if you have:
5+ years of experience within the IoT space.
Experience managing a business ops team leading a product development organization.
Knowledge in driving business model and commercialization plans, working closely with GTM and product functions; preference for experience with public sector customers.
Ability to drive a strategic plan to attain capital funding within a large product organization.
Demonstrated success driving product organizations to achieve double digit market growth.
Strong technology marketing and analytical skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills with customers to elevate Verizon as a trusted advisor in the VSC area.
Professional presentation and communication skills to address all levels of the enterprise to include client senior executives.
Ability to create excellent working relationships with diverse teams and job functions throughout the organization.
