Directs and controls the activities of broad functional areas through several mechanical leads within a next-generation electron beam based reticle inspection tool. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
Regularly interacts with division executives and other senior managers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with management or attempting to influence senior leaders regarding staffing, technical approaches, risks, and trade space.
Works on complex mechanical issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations’ effective achievement of objectives.
This position also contains a system/cross-functional component. The person taking this role will need to deal with existing RAPID optical systems and support of other portions of existing optical reticle inspectors as they are modified or upgraded to include future capabilities.
BSME or MSME with 20+ years experience in semiconductor capital equipment development, or similarly complex systems. At least 10 years in management and/or senior lead roles.
Experience with guiding engineers in precision design, tolerancing, material expertise, design for vacuum, motion control, thermal analysis and control, structural analysis, and requirement allocation.
Experience mentoring less-experienced mechanical engineers, with emphasis on identifying and growing lead-level talent.
Experience optimizing systems for cost, schedule, reliability, and/or maintainability.
BSME with 15 years experience, at least 5 of which have been in management and/or senior lead roles.
Experience with complex systems and in bringing a team to deliver those systems.
