The ITaaS Senior System Engineer is the most senior position in the ITaaS System Administration job family and ensures continuous availability of ITaaS services by effectively managing the identification of system requirements, installation of upgrades and monitoring of system performance for highly complex systems.
The primary responsibility of the ITaaS Senior System Engineer is to ensure the design and implementation of systems, software and networks by defining highly complex system requirements, determining system specifications and process and working parameters. In so doing, they take responsibility for the successful implementation of projects related to the management and support of the integration of various applications and platforms from a technical integration and business process perspective.
What you'll be doing
We have an immediate opening for an Architect in our R&D organization. We have various projects initiatives in our MCP (Managed Cloud Platform) that are being developed and we need an Architect to be responsible for the architecture design and how we will orchestrate the installation, configuration, deployment of various services in our cloud. The Architect will provide strategic vision and work with our Product team and developers to complete the vision of a product/service, evaluate different technologies for achieving the product/service and finally lead and implement said product/service. They should have experience with designing and scoping Multi-tenant Cloud technology solutions and deploying those solutions for clients and experience with integrating those solutions to clients existing IT Infrastructure. This individual should have hands on knowledge of REST & SOAP API as it relates to clients to support client’s application environments as it relates to other applications written in multiple application frameworks.
The Architect will provide direction to the teams during solution realization and work as intermediary across delivery streams throughout all the regions to ensure overall alignment. Be proactive in making changes necessary to the solution architecture triggered by changes in business requirements, technical requirements, develop options to incorporate the changes in a transparent manner. The Architect must be able to work across all levels of staff including executives, architects, engineers, and call center personnel.
Major areas of responsibility
10-15 years of proven experience of Systems and Storage architecture.
Advance level knowledge of cloud and Dev/Ops domains
Design the end-to-end functional landscape and solution design
Prior experience with Hyperconverged technologies (Nutanix) is advantages
Expertise in one or all of the following technical areas: Security, Application Control Interface (API), Networking, Virtualization, Storage technologies
Expertise in virtualized environment (VMware / Hyper-V) preferably in Cloud or Managed Hosting Environments.
DoubleTake Availability, EMC VNX Snapshot, Rurbrik, Pure Storage Snapshot, Actifico Snapshot, or Commvault.
Strong operating systems scripting skills. (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl, Java)
Expertise in automating/orchestrating the technical areas above.
Research and recommend changes; writes and revises validation protocols and procedures.
Independently lead or execute complex assignments and deliverables
