Engage in sales activity that results in enhanced customer technical capability, satisfaction, and yields maximum product value whilst also driving Education business growth & profitability.
Support the Education Sales team in customer business planning activities by owning the education technical relationship, creating education solutions, and managing/delivering that solution for the customer as required.
Conduct training needs and skills assessments.
Deliver technical training sessions to customers, as required.
Apply industry, technical, product, and education portfolio knowledge to build effective Education solutions that address customer & partner skills gaps.
Utilise Value Selling sales methodology including VMware sales tools and processes as required, to communicate, report, track and manage sales opportunities.
Advocate VMware Education products & services to the right levels of customer.
Act as the subject matter expert within the Education team, communicating key technical and industry knowledge within the team to promote product understanding & positioning.
Support key communities such as VMware User Group (VMUG) and other industry events that help promote awareness of VMware’s Education solutions and services.
Maintain a solid understanding of the VMware product and education portfolio.
Leverage industry and market knowledge to assist with effective Education marketing campaigns.
Perform other tasks, roles, and responsibilities, as required.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong professional presentation experience.
Proven ability to engage at senior management level for the purposes of Education solution selling, establishing peer relationships, and articulating the value of education to customers.
Proven experience as a technology evangelist, team lead, or instructor.
Ability to work independently, use solid judgment and create “client-ready” deliverables.
Ability to meet established deadlines and quality standards and to deliver fully on commitments.
Proven ability to work in dynamic work environments with limited supervision to deliver results.
Experience operating in a channel-driven sales environment with complex global alliances.
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Communication or Technology.
10+ years relevant Information Technology industry experience.
2+ years experience in a pre-sales or related customer-facing technology role focusing on infrastructure with experience in VMware solutions.
5+ years technical instruction experience, teaching highly technical material relating to virtualization, cloud, operating systems (Linux / Windows), networking & storage.
Sound knowledge of enterprise-class hardware, operating systems, virtualization, networking, storage, client/server & cloud-scale applications, and cloud technologies.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) mandatory.
VMware Certified Instructor (VCI) strongly preferred.
EMEA-centric language skills a plus.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time across EMEA.
