Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be an integral member of the corporate accounting team addressing established deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including maintaining the general ledger, supporting monthly close, assisting with year-end audit, SOX Control Audits, and supporting senior management with budget and forecast activities.

Define and document accounting functions and processes.
Ensure an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations as part of month-end close.
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and other statements.
Support senior management with special projects and process improvements.
Account for intercompany transactions
Help with debt and equity accounting
Assist with accounting guidance and financial questions by researching and interpreting data

About You

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA required
5-7 years prior relevant experience in finance and accounting gained in industry or 3-4 years gained in public accounting
Big 4 experience highly preferred
Accounting experience in a software company especially as it relates to revenue (license, SaaS, support & maintenance, professional services)
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Microsoft Great Plains, and Concur is desired
Excellent organization skills and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple, competing tasks simultaneously
Ability to work with diverse workforce and manage change effectively
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications
Experience/familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documentation
Ability to make decisions, problem solve, and work independently
Research technical topics and apply knowledge to business operations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
